What We Love About Lincoln, Ca

Lincoln, CA – Just the name of it conjures images of an All-American town, with fields for miles and an American flag on nearly every house. Although Lincoln is not in the midwest, but right here in Placer county, it was actually voted an All-America City in 2006. This Award is given by the National Civic League annually to ten cities in the United States and recognizes communities whose citizens work together to identify and tackle community-wide challenges and achieve uncommon results.

If you have driven on the New HWY 65 Lincoln Bypass, don’t take the title literally and bypass your opportunity to visit Downtown Lincoln. Driving through this historic district, you will find brick buildings dating back to the mid 1800s when the California Central Railway first set its eyes on Lincoln. Old Town Pizza and Awful Annie’s are two of the most popular restaurants in the city, but don’t forget to stop by Beermann’s Brewery and Buonarroti Ristorante.

Although Lincoln was hit by a suburban boom in the mid 2000’s, it holds to its small town feel and honors its local farmers and community. In fact, Lincoln High School has its own farm located on the outskirts of town where students can participate in daily farming activities. Oh and don’t forget to visit the Lincoln Rodeo!

The residents here are family oriented, friendly, and active. If it’s not raining, you’re guaranteed to see folks out walking, biking and enjoying the outdoors in any of the dozens of parks, paths, and nature preserves. You’ll also see them at the local Farmers Market on Thursdays from mid June through the end of August.

Thank you Lincoln for letting us serve you for more than 30 years! We are honored to be a part of your community!  Take advantage of our Spring Special, just for you Lincoln.

After you’ve enjoyed your meal and the easy conversation that is sure to transpire with the friendly, hardworking owners, you can cross the street and head over to the newly opened Sammy’s Rockin’ Island Bar and Grill. That’s right! Roseville is now home to Sammy Hagar’s restaurant and club! Looking for great entertainment in your own town? Look no further!

Record Breaking Heat Wave Taking Country By Storm

Since heat related ER visits can cost tens of thousands of dollars and replacing your air conditioner could cost thousands of dollars, doesn’t it just make sense to become a Customer Assurance Plan member (CAP member)? Especially when you consider the heat wave that is hitting the country right now.

Record Heat Wave

According to the National Climatic Data Center, 41 heat records have fallen or been tied in the past seven days, and even more in the past month. In the past 30 days, the number of broken daily records climbed beyond 2,360, hitting nearly 35,000 over the past year. In Indiana, where temperatures topped 100 last week, state health officials logged 46 heat-related complaints in one day, Thursday. The state averages 62 heat-related hospital visits per week in late June and early July, says Indiana State Health Commissioner Gregory Larkin.

Protect Yourself and Save Money

According to George Luber, a health scientist with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Environmental Health, heat waves caused 70,000 excess deaths in France in 2003 and 50,000 excess deaths in Russia in 2010. Luber says that an emergency room visit could cost up to $10,000 and even more to deal with the long-term cost of a stroke or heart attack brought on by excessive heat.

Here at Peck Heating and Air Conditioning we want to make sure that you and your home are ready for the coming heat wave. If you haven’t properly maintained your AC system  through the years then a record breaking heat wave will cause tremendous stress on your system, and it is possible that it will not function properly this summer when you need it most.
